Whole30 grocery shopping made easier. If you’re serious about Whole30 this month you can request to join our Stay Fit Mom Whole30 Facebook Group here!
I’ll never forget that time my 3-year-old son grabbed a big juicy tomato in the middle of the produce section and squeezed it as hard as he could…. right on my crotch. Grocery shopping with two small children is a little like preparing for an epic battle that could very well end in two tantrums, a lost child, or maybe even red juice in your crotch.
This is my grocery store prayer. I recite it in the Smith’s parking lot upwards of three times a week. Feel free to borrow it anytime.
“Lord, you have made me a strong woman {deep breath}. I’ve come prepared with snacks {deep breath}, three action figures, and a LIST that will keep me focused. God, have mercy on my soul for the next 45 minutes {deep breath}. Amen.”
Over time, I’ve learned that my grocery store success rate is about 75% if I bring a LIST! Usually if I don’t write it down, it doesn’t end up in the cart. There is nothing worse than getting home to realize I forgot to buy eggs, because now I have to buckle my kids back into their car seats, repeat the grocery store prayer, and unbuckle the carseats for just one measly item that I usually can’t live without. Why oh why, isn’t there a drive thru at the grocery store?!
If you’re ready to start Whole30, you’ll want to make sure your fridge is stocked for Day 1. The first week is challenging enough. Having food prepped and ready for eating will make this whole process So. Much. Easier. Check out My Whole30 Grocery List below.

Most of these foods came from Sam’s Club and Smiths. I think their produce is outstanding. I did have to hunt down a few items at Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods. I also ordered from Amazon whenever I could. My favorite items to get on Amazon include EVOO, Ghee, Coconut Oil, Cinnamon Apple Spice Tea {an ABSOLUTE FAVORITE}, Almond Butter, tuna, Balsamic Vinegar, Raw Cashews, and Raw Almonds. One less trip to the store always makes my life a little easier!
Be sure to check labels before seasoning food. Several spices like garlic salt and lemon pepper have sugar listed in the ingredients. Who knew, right?
Spices that are Whole30 compliant include Himalayan Salt, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Italian-Seasoning, Oregano, Cumin, Chili Powder, Paprika, Crushed Red Pepper, as well as Bragg’s Organic Sprinkle.
I highly recommend planning out your first week’s Whole30 menu before hitting the stores. You’ll want to make sure you’ve got everything you need to make the first week run smoothly! Hey Ladies! Just stumbled upon your site. I’m thrilled to have found you both. I am a super busy LEO wife, home educator to my 4 blessings and small business owner (Our SpecialTEA — http://www.ourspecialtea.shop) which I have had the blessing of running for 13 years. I appreciate your raw, real approach to health. We are an active healthy family and I need some new clean recipes to liven things up. Thank you again for what you do!
Thanks so much Lauren!
Thanks for the fantastic shopping list! I may have completely missed it, but does this list correspond to a specific week long meal plan that you have on your site? Thanks so much!
Hi Kristal! Good luck on your Whole30 Journey this here. There is a link at the bottom of the page to a 30 day whole30 menu plan. You can find it here:

Congratulations on your first Whole30! 🙂
I’m not sure if you’re aware, but the Celestial Seasonings Cinnamon Apple Spice Tea that you’ve linked above contains soy lecithin. As you may know, soy is not Whole30-compliant; additionally it is also a neuro-toxin. Also, “Natural Flavors” (another ingredient in the cinnamon apple spice tea) is a catch -all term; and sometimes (often), the natural flavors being used are actually harmful (long-term) to the human body (not everything that is natural is safe for human consumption).
GOOD for you for doing Whole30! I love the program!
Be blessed,
Sharon-Marie
Hi Sharon! Thanks for stopping in at Stay Fit Mom! I double checked the ingredients and while Soy lecithin is not listed, it does indeed say natural flavors. The forum on Whole9life from Melissa Hartwig of Whole30 says the following in regards to Natural flavoring, “While we think you should hunt for processed foods with little to no additives, the ‘natural flavorings’ in these products aren’t going to affect your whole30 in a negative fashion.”
Thanks again for keeping us on our toes! We do our best to share with our readers what has been successful for us in our lives!
