I recently shared with you that I need to plan activities for my summer days to keep myself and the kids busy and stress free. I’m excited to share with you what we are doing to celebrate International Yoga Day today! One of Brett’s favorite things he did in preschool last year was yoga. He came home one day so excited because they did lots of yoga poses just like mommy does at home. His teacher was a yoga fanatic so they did it often at school. Today we are going to do some yoga inside (if you’re in Las Vegas you know it’s hot as heck this week) and I’ll share with you some basic kids yoga moves you can do with your little ones. I also do these yoga poses with my elementary PE students and they absolutely love it! Did I mention yoga is great for all ages?!
My kids pictured, 5 and 3, love doing yoga! These are the basic kids yoga moves I do with my students and children because they are simple and fun. Did I miss any good ones your kids love?
And a few more:My kids and I love all the Ice Age Movies! On my commute to work or when just out and about I will only listen to certain movies in the minivan…Ice Age is one of them. We are super excited to go see the new movie, Ice Age Collision Course, next month and to then add another to our minivan movie collection. That is another activity on my summer list!
The Shangri Llama will see you now. Celebrate International Yoga Day with a new clip from Ice Age: Collision Course, in theaters July 22!
In this this latest adventure, Scrat’s epic pursuit of the elusive acorn catapults him into the universe where he accidentally sets off a series of cosmic events that transform and threaten the Ice Age World. To save themselves, Sid, Manny, Diego, and the rest of the herd must leave their home and embark on a quest full of comedy and adventure, traveling to exotic new lands and encountering a host of colorful new characters.
The Shangri Llama is voiced by Modern Family’s Jessie Tyler Ferguson and also stars Ray Romano, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah, Seann William Scott, Josh Peck, Simon Pegg, Keke Palmer, Wanda Sykes, Jennifer Lopez and so many more!
When we go to Utah my kids love to drive around on the four wheelers and see all the farm animals. One of their pit stops is always the llama. They are loving the new Shangri Llama character already! Here are some fun coloring pages for your kids. Another activity to keep them busy for a few minutes! (Click the photo to download the free .pdf)
I hope you enjoy National Yoga Day and all these fun activities for your kids this summer!
