We are so excited to bring to you our first MOM CRUSH MONDAY! Our goal here at Stay Fit Mom is to inspire you and help you live the healthy life you deserve. We will be highlighting real life mommies who find balance in motherhood and living a healthy lifestyle.
Meet Kara! We love Kara because she is a rockstar mom of 5 beautiful kids and super fun Zumba instructor. We talked to Kara and found out what keeps her motivated and what makes it all worth it.

Kara: It’s fun so it keeps me motivated to be consistent with exercising. I also love seeing that it makes people
super happy. I always say that everyone has at least a little desire to be able to dance. It’s easy to feel awkward or self conscious but with Zumba I can give them the moves and the more they do it the more they turn into a dancing exercising machine!
StayFitMom: What’s your biggest struggle when it comes to living healthy?
Kara: My biggest struggle when it comes to living healthy is coming up with different delicious meals! Social media is great to get ides! Another struggle is to resist treats so I allow myself treats sometimes. Then I don’t feel mad and deprived.

Kara: Balancing health, fitness, and being a mom can be really tricky but there some great rewards that come with sticking to it. My biggest reward is that it makes me a happier better version of me. Then when I am happier I am a much better mom and I have more energy to do all the things busy moms do. Teaching Zumba is also so rewarding because it keeps me active but most importantly I have seen so many women become happy and confident.
StayFitMom: Biggest piece of advice for women who want to incorporate health and fitness into their lives?
Kara: The best advice I can give women who want to incorporate health and fitness in their lives is to first decide you’re going to do it. Know that you are important and make YOU a priority! It’s so important to figure out what kind of exercise you like, and just do it. I like Zumba because it’s always a party but we work hard too. I also throw in some weight lifting a few times a week. You have to find what you like and what works for you!

Kara: I teach 2 FREE Zumba classes per week and anyone is welcome to come! Moms with young kids are welcome to bring them. These classes are at the LDS church on Hollywood and Stewart on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s at 9:30am.
I also teach Monday’s and Friday’s at the ZspotLV at 9:30.

Hi, I’ve done Zumba with Kara before and I LOVE her. I am unable to go in the mornings as I work. Can you recommend a good place to go in the evenings in Henderson?
Please and THANK YOU!!
Hi Valerie! We sure love her too! I wish I could help with some recommendations for Henderson, but I just don’t have any. I know Kara is active on IG, have you tried reaching out to her? I bet she could help. 🙂
