When you head to the hospital to deliver your baby you won’t want to go empty handed. My first time around I took my cute new diaper bag filled with all kinds of baby essentials-Three outfits, three different brands of pacifiers, swaddle blankets, big soft blanket, hats, 2 cameras, etc. What I failed to worry about was myself. I really had no idea that I could benefit from having a few personal mommy items with me in a hospital bag. This would would be a great hospital gift for a new mommy who doesn’t know what she may or may not need.
Fast forward 6 years and I’m preparing to go to the hospital this week to deliver my third child!! I now know exactly what I need and what I know would be beneficial to have. I bought a few items, put them in a super cute travel bag and I’m ready to go! Now, you may not be having a baby anytime soon but chances are you know someone who is. I think putting together a hospital gift bag like this for a new mom as a baby shower gift would be awesome! This would also be special to take to your good friend in the hospital when you go meet her new little one.
You know all those super cute makeup bags you never throw away because you just know they will be good for something? Well now is the perfect time to use one! This happens to be one I bought on clearance a while back and just knew it would be good for something. This one has 4 zip up sections with lots of room for all my hospital mommy essentials.
Here are a list of some items you could include in the hospital gift bag:
- A soft new Loofa
- Body Wash
- Face Wash
- Chapstick
- Facial Cleansing Wipes
- Body Cleansing Wipes
- Panties
- Maxi Pads
- Soft Bra
- Nursing pads
- Hair Brush
- Hair ties
- Small Mirror
- Tooth Brush
- Tooth Paste
- Slippers
- Snacks- Last Saturday I was shopping at Sam’s Club and taste tested these yummy new goodnessknows® snack squares. I knew they would be the perfect to have around after the baby comes as a little afternoon pick me up or late night snack when I’m up nursing. I know things will be crazy for a while adjusting to 3 kids, setting new health and fitness goals, and surviving the holidays so these will give me that little bit of goodness I need without packing on the calories or guilt. Sam’s club now sells the goodnessknows® Cranberry, Almond and Dark Chocolate 18 pack. You can find these new snack square in three flavors:
- goodnessknows® Cranberry, Almond, Dark Chocolate (My favorite!!)
- goodnessknows® Apple, Almond & Peanut, Dark Chocolate
- goodnessknows® Peach & Cherry, Almond, Dark Chocolate
Have you tried these new snack square yet? Share your favorite flavor in the comments!
If you haven’t tried these yet participating Sam’s Clubs will have similar demos December 5th and December 12th.
Now if you’re giving this as a gift you need to put a cute bow on it. I’m no pro at bows, I just cute three about 12 inch pieces and threw one together. I used 2 to make the bow and 1 to tie it one the bag. Now it’s all ready. I will be taking this bag with me to the hospital any day now but next time one of my friends or family has a baby I’m going to put another one of these together!
