Pro Tips
- If your protein powder tends to clump, mix it with the milk first to make a smooth paste before adding eggs.
- Want a richer flavor? Add a splash of vanilla extract or almond extract to the egg mixture.
- For a brunch-ready presentation, bake in small ceramic ramekins and top with fresh mint and berries.
Storing and Reheating Instructions:
- Storing: Let your French Toast Bakes cool completely, cover tightly with a lid, and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- Reheating: Microwave each portion for 1-2 minutes or until heated through.

French Toast Bakes
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1/2 large sour dough loaf, 375g or French loaf
- 2 1/2 tablespoons fat free Fairlife milk
- 10 tablespoons liquid egg whites
- 3 large eggs
- 2 scoops vanilla protein powder, I used Clean Simple Eats
- 1/2 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- pinch of nutmeg
Optional Topping Ideas:
- syrup
- powdered sugar
- brown sugar
- fruit
- nuts
- whipped cream
Instructions
- Arrange 5 oven safe containers on a cookie sheet. Spray lightly with cooking spray.
- Slice up the sour dough into 1″ cubes. Evenly distribute bread into the 5 bowls (75g per bowl).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and mix well. Evenly distribute into the 5 bowls (6 tablespoons per bowl). Gently mix the bread cubes into the egg mixture so that the bread cubes soak up most the egg mixture. Let sit while the oven preheats to 350 degrees.
- Before baking, give the bowls one more gentle stir. Bake in the oven about 35-40 minutes, or until the tops begin to get toasty.
- Serve warm topped with some powder sugar, syrup, fruit, nuts, whip cream, or anything else that sounds good. Toppings not included in the macro count.

If you only have plain protein powder, can you use that and add vanilla?
Yes that would work great I think!
