Once a month, we love shining a spotlight on a 1:1 Stay Fit Mom coaching client who is doing incredible things—and this month’s story is one you’re going to want to read slowly.
Meet a 47-year-old mom from southern Minnesota who juggles a full-time, in-office career, family life, and the everyday stress that comes with both. Like so many women, she had tried other “diet” approaches that felt restrictive, complicated, and unsustainable. When she joined Stay Fit Mom in 2022, she wasn’t looking for another quick fix—she wanted something that worked in real life.
Fast-forward three years, and her transformation speaks for itself: 20 pounds lost, countless inches gone, strength gained, confidence rebuilt, and consistency she never thought possible. But what makes her story so inspiring isn’t just the physical change—it’s how her mindset around food, fitness, and grace has completely shifted.
Her journey is a powerful reminder that this isn’t about perfection, all-or-nothing thinking, or living on salads. It’s about learning, showing up, adjusting when life gets messy, and staying consistent over time—with the right support in your corner.
Tell us a little bit about your story. Work? family?
Jaime: Hi! I’m a 47‑year‑old mom from southern MN. My husband and I have been together for 23 years, married for 15, and we have a 10‑year‑old son who keeps us plenty busy.
This year I hit 25 years with a Minnesota insurance company. Most days I really do like what I do, but some days are definitely stressful. Luckily my coworkers are like family, so even the rough days end up being pretty good. I work fully in‑office, so I get a lot of face‑to‑face time with everyone.

How did you find Stay Fit Mom and what made you decide to take the leap?
Jaime: I started SFM in September 2022 after following Krista and Tracy on Instagram. At the time I was kind of on‑again, off‑again with another macro program. It just didn’t fit me or how I wanted to lose weight—lots of carb cycling, intermittent fasting, all that stuff.
I decided to give SFM a try because it was real women getting real results while eating actual, family‑friendly meals. And honestly, the recipes they share were a huge bonus!

You’ve drastically changed your body composition and your transformation is inspiring! Tell us how much weight/inches you’ve lost.
Jaime: Since September 2022, I have lost 20 pounds and many inches as you can see in the pictures. This is thanks to macros and working out.

How are you able to fit in Macro counting with your lifestyle? Have you had to make any major changes?
Jaime: Now that I’m over three years into it, I honestly can’t imagine not doing it. It gets easier because you get better at it—just takes time, and lots of grace along the way.
The biggest game‑changer was when my husband started counting macros with me. It helped so much to both be on the same page and hold each other accountable. No more one person wanting to eat out while the other was trying to stay on track—we had the same goals.
Not going to lie though, it made some things harder too. Some days he’d have a ton of fat left and I’d be totally out, so trying to find meals that worked for both of us was tricky. And since I’m the main cook (and not a meal planner), figuring that out usually fell on me.
Fast‑forward to now, he’s not tracking anymore. I’ll admit, there were days I wished I didn’t have to juggle both his macros and mine—but looking back, it actually made things easier.
We’ve drifted back into eating out more—not a ton, but definitely more than before—and it makes staying on track a little harder. The good news is that the consistency I’ve built over time really helps. It lets me enjoy the occasional meal out or treat without feeling like I’m derailing everything.

How has learning to macro count shifted your thinking about “dieting”?
Jaime: The best part is that you can literally eat whatever you want. You might have to give up something else that day, but it really makes you think about whether it’s worth it. Sometimes I’d rather save it for later, or I’ll skip it—or just have half.
I don’t restrict myself. I’m a volume eater, so I’d much rather have a big, satisfying plate of healthier foods than a tiny portion of something super indulgent. But some days? I absolutely pick the indulgent thing. And that’s okay.
Besides shedding pounds and inches, what are some Non-Scale Victories that you’ve experienced?
Jaime: One of my biggest NSVs has been realizing how much food affects how I feel—same with skipping workouts. I’ve also learned that some days, forcing myself through a workout would push me right over the edge, so I’ve gotten better at giving myself permission to rest when I need it.
Figuring out how food makes you feel is honestly so freeing. It’s just food—it’s fuel. I love snacks and treats, and I still have them, but now I pause and think about how they’ll make me feel before I decide. Sometimes it’s totally worth it, sometimes it’s not, and both are fine.
Over the last three years, I’ve gotten really consistent with my workouts. Following pre‑set programs works best for me—some days I do not have the mental energy to make another decision, so knowing “today is full‑body strength” makes it so much easier to just press play and get it done. Finding what works for you is such a huge part of the whole journey, whether it’s workouts or nutrition.

And honestly, I’m in the best physical shape of my life—at 47! This summer at a work event, a group of 20‑ to 30‑year‑olds commented on my arms and asked what my workout routine was. They even guessed I must spend hours working out… but I literally spend about 30 minutes a day. It was such a proud moment for me, and I still think about it on the days when I really don’t feel like doing the workout.
Looking back, I’d tell my 2022 self that it’s all about progress, not perfection. Not every day is going to be a green day—and that’s totally okay. Just give it time, stay consistent, and give yourself plenty of grace along the way.
What’s your most used, favorite SFM recipe?

- Chad’s tortellini
- French dip sandwiches
- Wonton breakfast cups
- Cauliflower Au Gratin
- All the desserts
Tell us about your experience working with Coach Stacy specifically.
Jaime: Stacy is seriously so motivating. TBH, at this point I know what to do—but I still need accountability.
Stacy makes me feel seen, even on “bad food” days… or bad food weeks. She’s always in my corner, cheering me on, and I’m honestly so grateful I get to work with her.
She just gets it. It’s not black‑and‑white every day. As a busy mom, some days are just hard, and she never makes me feel guilty about that—she helps me reset and move forward.
What I love most is that she meets me where I’m at. She celebrates the wins, helps me problem‑solve the tough spots, and reminds me that this whole thing is a journey, not perfection. Having someone like that in your corner makes all the difference.
