Ingredients

  • Feta cheese
  • 1/3 less fat cream cheese
  • Plain nonfat Greek yogurt
  • Garlic
  • Honey
  • Crushed pistachios
  • Pomegranate arils
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)

Substitution Ideas

  • Feta: Use goat cheese for a creamier, tangier version.
  • Cream Cheese: Full-fat or dairy-free cream cheese works well.
  • Honey: Maple syrup or agave can be used for a vegan version.
  • Nuts: Swap pistachios for walnuts, almonds, or pecans.
  • Fruit: Try dried cranberries or chopped fresh strawberries when pomegranates aren’t in season.

Recipe Tips

  • Make ahead: You can prep the whipped feta up to two days in advance. Add toppings right before serving.
  • Texture tip: Blend longer for a smoother spread or leave it slightly chunky for a rustic dip.
  • Serving ideas: Serve alongside roasted veggies, crostini, or as part of a Mediterranean platter.
  • Storage: Keep leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 4 days.

What if my feta is grainy?

Feta naturally has a crumbly, slightly grainy texture, so your whipped feta may not turn out perfectly smooth, and that’s okay! It should still be creamy and spreadable.

If you prefer a smoother consistency:

  • Use a higher-powered food processor or blender and blend a bit longer, scraping down the sides often.
  • Add an extra tablespoon or two of Greek yogurt or milk to help it blend more easily.
  • Strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth after blending if you want a silky finish (some people like to remove the remaining tiny feta bits).

Supplies Used

  1. Food Processor – This little gadget has come in handy so many times! It makes this dip the perfect consistency!

Storing:

  • Transfer the dip (without toppings if possible) to an airtight container.
  • Refrigerate for up to 4–5 days.

Serving again:

  • Before serving, give it a quick stir — it may firm up a bit in the fridge.
  • If it’s too thick, mix in a teaspoon or two of Greek yogurt or milk to loosen the texture.
  • Add fresh toppings (honey drizzle, pistachios, pomegranate, mint) right before serving for the best appearance and crunch.
