Where do I find turkey breakfast sausage?
I find the Jennie-O brand at my local neighborhood Walmart or Winco. I see other brands of turkey breakfast sausage at other local grocery stores near me as well and they have very similar macros. If all else fails just use ground turkey seasoned with salt, pepper, and sage. You can even add a little maple extract if you have it.
Do you have a single serve meal prep version of this?
I sure do in Meal Prep Cookbook Volume 2! I had to make a few adjustments so it would only make the 5 servings so the macros are slightly different. You’ll of course find the macros for both in Myfitnesspal and the Macrosfirst apps.
What if I don’t have the Fairlife milk you use in this recipe and so many others?
I do love the Fairlife milk because it is higher in protein than other brands of milk by quite a bit. It also seems to be available in most places. Keep in mind when using milk in recipes like this one, 2 cups of Fairlife milk (26g protein) vs. 2 cups of regular milk (16g protein) is only a difference of 10 grams of protein. When divided up amongst the 8 servings, we’re talking about just over 1 gram of protein difference per serving. So in my opinion, using whatever brand of milk is available near you is just fine and not worth stressing about. Now when drinking a glass of milk yourself, those 10 grams of protein do make a difference.

makes 8 servings
serving size: 96g
127 cals
12.3p / 4.2c / 6.5f
Ingredients
- 16 ounces breakfast turkey sausage
- 16.3 ounces Grands Southern Homestyle Biscuits (3p/27c/7f each biscuit)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 2 cups fat free Fairlife milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 cups liquid egg whites
- 2 large eggs
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 9X13 casserole dish.
- Slice biscuits into quarters. Evenly distribute all biscuits in the bottom of the casserole dish.
- Over medium high heat cook the turkey sausage until no longer pink. Strain the grease, remove from pan and set aside.
- Using the same pan you cooked the sausage in (don’t clean it) melt the butter over medium high heat. Stir in the flour (it will be very clumpy). Slowly begin whisking in the milk, about 2 tablespoons at a time. Once all the milk has been added, continue whisking until it thickens. Remove from heat and stir in the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and cooked sausage.
- In a mixing bowl whisk the egg whites, 2 whole eggs, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
- Pour half the egg mixture over the biscuits. Next, evenly scoop the gravy mixture into the casserole dish. Pour the remaining eggs on top and bake in the oven for 35 minutes, or until the eggs are all cooked.
