When I think of summer treats, I think of warm and gooey s’mores! These Protein S’mores Bars are a fun alternative when you don’t have a fire pit or somewhere to roast your marshmallows! And let’s face it, protein treats are never as good as the real deal. That’s a fact. Sometimes it’s nice to just have a buttery, sugar filled treat and move on with your day. However when you want to fit a treat in your day, or satisfy a craving without breaking the macro bank, a treat with added protein that has been lightened up, can be nice. Try these out this summer and see just how yummy they are!

Protein S’mores Bars
Equipment
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
- 1/4 cup swerve brown sugar
- 1/2 cup swerve sugar
- 6 tablespoons egg whites
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 3 scoops CSE Simply Vanilla protein powder, 99g
- 4 graham cracker sheets, crushed
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3.5 ounces Jet-Puffed marshmallow creme
- 1.5 Hersheys milk chocolate bars, 110g
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 8×8 inch square baking pan with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, cream together with a hand-held electric mixer, butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in egg whites and vanilla.
- In a small bowl, whisk together flour, protein powder, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder and salt. Add to butter and sugar mixture and mix at low speed until combined.
- Divide dough in half and press half into an even layer on the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Spread marshmallow creme over the bottom layer as best you can. Break apart the Hershey’s bar and evenly spread out the pieces.
- Take the remaining dough and layer it over the top. It’s okay if there are uncovered sections of marshmallow and chocolate.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until lightly browned. Let cool at least 20 minutes before cutting and serving.
