I’m a serious smoothie lover.  I love smoothies for breakfast, after my workout, on a hot afternoon, or even for dessert to satisfy my sweet tooth.  I love mixing and matching flavors and coming up with new protein smoothies.   Today I’m sharing with you my 5 favorite protein smoothies! These protein smoothies look pretty AMAZING!! I've got to try these gluten free, non-dairy smoothies! #SwapMilk4Silk #ad @Walmart Smoothies are a great option for getting lots of nutrients in quickly.  One scoop of protein powder has about 25 grams of protein, that means that each of these smoothies packs a serious protein punch!  I keep these protein smoothies pretty simple, but you can always add extra leafy greens, oatmeal, chia seeds, nuts, veggies, you name it.

If you are trying to lose weight and build muscle, protein smoothies are must immediately following your workout.  Any of these protein smoothie recipes are a good option.  Also keep in mind that extra sugar is most beneficial after a workout as well.  Does that mean load up on the sugar?  No, but I wouldn’t stress about all the sugar in your fruit and yogurt.

I use almond milk in almost all my smoothies. Silk Almond Milk is my favorite non-dairy milk, and it has 50% more calcium than dairy milk, and absolutely no cholesterol and no saturated fat!  Using unsweetened almond milk is a great way to make your smoothies creamy without many extra calories.  I usually by mine at Walmart in the dairy section next to the regular milk.  I included both the almond milk and the silk dairy free yogurt in the raspberry lemonade smoothie and I was very impressed with the flavor!  Did I mention this smoothie packs more than 30 grams of protein in 1 serving!?

I've got to try this protein smoothie!

What brand of protein powder do you use?

Use any brand you like. I have found that if you don’t like the way your protein powder tastes on it’s own (mixed with water), you won’t like the taste in your smoothies. My favorite brands are Gold Standard 100% Whey and EAS 100% Whey. Hope this helps!
