These are pictures of real women with real bodies that have done some pretty amazing things. COMBINED these bodies have birthed 6 children, these bodies can squat over 350 pounds, and deadlift over 425 pounds. These bodies have competed in triathlons, 1/2 marathons, and CrossFit competitions. These bodies cook dinner every night, they diffuse tantrums on a regular basis, and chauffeur kids to and from playdates, activities, and school, all while trying to balance work in and out of the home. Not a day goes by that doesn’t call for crisis control, whether it be the loss of a favorite toy, or a complete emotional breakdown.
We are posting these pictures of us for the world to see, not because we enjoy sharing our back fat with the internet (because we most definitely do NOT), but because we want you all to know that WE GET IT. Mom life is wonderful, exhausting, fulfilling, draining, exciting, hilarious, and crazy emotional. We. Are. So. Tired.
BUT… Krista and I have learned a SECRET that keeps us not only afloat but THRIVING during this stage of motherhood, and today we are sharing it with all of you, because we are tired of seeing moms put themselves last.
We put our oxygen masks on first.
It’s that simple. We focus on solid nutrition that fuels our bodies. We push our bodies in the gym, because it yields energy in the home. We posted these postpartum pictures because we want you to know that we are real women that gained a COMBINED total of 116 pounds during pregnancy. We work HARD for results, and the results come in many forms. Not only do we lose inches and pounds as the weeks go by, but we GAIN confidence, energy, sex drive, and will power. And if we can do it, YOU CAN DO IT.
Now is the time. Get rid of the guilt. Let go of the excuses. Forget about waiting for the perfect time, because there will NEVER be a perfect time.
Women often comment that we are “brave” for posting these types of pictures, but the truth is, we are proud of what our bodies have accomplished. Why have we been conditioned to think we should be shameful of the bodies we have been blessed with? We wouldn’t trade one moment of our journey. Motherhood is hard. Being a woman in the world of social media and Photoshop is hard. There is so much freedom in acknowledging our imperfections.
Today, we want you to join us… not on a quest for perfection, but on our journey towards progress.
We want to help you get healthy, lose that stubborn baby weight, feel confident in your skin, gain strength, or whatever your goals may be by counting macros and using flexibility just like we are!
