At Stay Fit Mom, we love celebrating the incredible transformations that happen when women commit to honoring their health and showing up for themselves. Today, we’re spotlighting Tiffany Murphy—a full-time IT project manager, wife, and busy mom of three—who proves that even in the middle of a demanding career, travel, and family life, it is possible to prioritize fitness and nutrition. Tiffany’s story is one of perseverance, learning, and finding freedom through macros after years of yo-yo dieting and frustration. Her journey shows that when you pair consistency with the right tools and support, lasting transformation is within reach.

Tell us a little bit about your story. Work? family?

Tiffany: I’m Tiffany Murphy, a full-time remote worker in IT Project Management (previous Scrum Master, transitioned to a Project Manager role), wife, and mom of three (11, 9, and 5.5). I gained 65lbs with my first pregnancy and thought I’d magically bounce back. I didn’t. I started dieting and failing, then getting pregnant again to gain more weight and not lose it. I’ve always been active though! Between meeting my bestie at the local gym at 5am to get a workout in before work and to running the Army Ten Miler before kids, then to OrangeTheory with her after my 2nd child until my 3rd pregnancy, to Foundry Fitness with my husband post-kiddos, and now to ISI Elite Training, I’m always moving. But it wasn’t until I found macros that I actually saw a difference in my body. I had the workout part down! During COVID, I was 3 months postpartum and by the end of that summer, hit my highest weight ever. I was miserable. I got back into workout classes (even wearing masks in early 2021) but it wasn’t until almost a year later when I knew I needed to do something different and actually dial into my nutrition. Working out alone wasn’t getting me the transformation I wanted and really needed. Macros has saved me and my relationship with food. Between work, kids’ activities, and travel, life is full, but I’ve learned that making time for myself through fitness and nutrition allows me to show up as my best version—for my family, my career, and myself.

How did you find Stay Fit Mom and what made you decide to take the leap?

Tiffany: I found Stay Fit Mom through Krista’s meal prep bowls on Insta and after chatting with my old high school friend (BG, who looks amazing!), and I instantly connected with the idea that this was real life fitness for real women. I’d tried all kinds of diets and “quick fixes” before, but nothing felt sustainable. What hooked me was the idea of learning a skill—macro tracking—that could fit my lifestyle instead of fighting against it. I joined the 2024 Spring Bikini Challenge and that kickstarted my SFM journey! I saw results really quickly and didn’t feel like I was dieting or restricting myself. It felt like something I could do for the long haul. Once I got the hang of it, it felt easy.

Your transformation is incredible! Tell us how much weight/inches you’ve lost.

Tiffany: Since starting that highest post-COVID weight in August 2020, I’ve lost 75 pounds and countless inches. However, what’s most impressive to me is since working with Laura at SFM, I’ve lost a 45 pounds in the 15 months! The SFM Macros have made SUCH a difference in this transformation. Friends I saw last summer were so surprised when we saw them for our ski trip earlier this year, saying I’d lost a significant amount of weight. Even my own sister-in-law couldn’t believe how much I had changed from last August to last December. It’s finally clicked! And while the number is amazing, what’s even better is how much lighter, stronger, and more confident I feel in my own skin.

You are a super busy working mom who we know travels a lot! How are you able to fit in Macro counting with your lifestyle? Have you had to make any major changes?

Tiffany: The best part about macros is that they work with my life. I travel for work every month, and instead of stressing over “perfect eating,” (though Laura might disagree, but I do try to not stress about it lol) I’ve learned how to plan, pre-log, and make smarter choices while still enjoying food. A protein shake and doppio coffee usually start my mornings so I get high protein early, and I rely on simple, ready-made meals when I’m on the road. It’s not about perfection—it’s about consistency. If I end up at more work lunches or dinners than planned, I try not to throw the day away and focus on what I can control. More protein, more veggies, more water!

How has learning to macro count shifted your thinking about “dieting?”

Tiffany: It completely changed everything. I used to think dieting meant cutting things out, feeling restricted, and waiting for the day it was over. Now, I know that macro counting is about adding—adding balance, adding protein, adding flexibility. It’s not about a quick fix—it’s about fueling the life I want to live. Macros help me stay strong, travel, and keep up with my family for years to come. If I want that Dreamsicle with my kids, I can have it and shift what the rest of my day looks like!

Besides shedding pounds and inches, what are some Non-Scale Victories that you’ve experienced?

Tiffany: So many! I have energy to keep up with my kids, I feel confident walking into the gym, I can run again, and I even nailed my first box jump recently (20′ and then 24′ two weeks later!) and deadlifted 134lbs on my first barbell RDLs. The mental shift has been the biggest NSV—I trust myself now, I’m more confident, I feel better in my clothes, I’m so much stronger. And honestly, one of my biggest motivations is knowing I’m building the strength to pick myself up off the ground when I’m older, carry my future grandkids should I be so lucky, and keep traveling the world with ease. My kids are watching and they all know Mommy’s strong! Piggyback rides, shoulder rides, and just giant pickup Mom hugs when they need that extra squeeze. That’s a victory you can’t measure on a scale.

What’s your most used, favorite SFM recipe?

Tiffany: My go-to is 100% the chicken enchilada bowls! I usually make 6 at a time and vary it up with green and red enchilada sauce. It’s on repeat in my kitchen! When I’m on the go for work travel or squeezing in a quick snack during kid’s sports, it’s the Orange Julius (OJ & Vanilla Protein Powder)!

Tell us about your experience working with Coach Laura specifically.

Tiffany: Coach Laura has been such a gift in this journey. She’s pushed me when I needed accountability, celebrated every win, and helped me through challenges with grace and patience. Having her guidance makes all the difference—she knows when to adjust my plan and when to remind me that consistency beats perfection. I’m so lucky to have her tough love when I need it to get back on track and hitting green days!

Anything else you’d like to share?

Tiffany: If you’re on the fence about starting, just do it. You don’t have to be perfect, you just have to start. I never imagined I’d be where I am today, but small, consistent steps have added up to a huge transformation. And the best part? This isn’t the end—it’s just the beginning. I’m stronger in my 40s than I ever was in my 20s, and I can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings.
