This month, we’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on one of Coach Laura’s rockstar clients who has truly earned the title of Consistency Queen. From morning workouts at F45 to long walks with her loyal pup, she’s made movement and macro counting a natural part of her everyday life—and it shows. As a stay-at-home mom navigating the changes that come with menopause, she found herself frustrated after gaining 25 pounds despite staying active. But instead of giving up, she got curious, took action, and decided it was time to try something different. That’s when Stay Fit Mom entered the picture—and everything changed.

With steady progress, realistic habits, and support from Coach Laura, she’s now down 10 pounds, lifting heavier at the gym, and fitting back into clothes she thought she’d packed away for good. Keep reading to hear her inspiring story, get a peek at her daily routines, and learn how she’s made macro counting a way of life—not just a quick fix.

Tell us a little bit about your story. Work? family? What’s a typical day in your life look like?

Michele: I am currently a stay at home mom.  My husband works from home most days and I have a 13 year old son and a dog that both keep me active.  Once my son is dropped off for school I head to the gym.  I joined F45 back in February after joing SFM and love the workouts and the variety of exercises.  It keeps things from getting boring and I look forward to going everyday.  Once I am back home from working out and running any errands, I head out for a walk with my dog.  He never lets me miss a day unless it is pouring down rain.  The rest of my day is typical house stuff, cleaning, school pick up and drop off etc.

How did you find Stay Fit Mom and what made you decide to take the leap?

Michele: I found it through another mom I was in a Mom’s Run This Town group I was in for several years when I lived in California.  I started following SFM on social media a long time ago.

I have been blessed not to have had struggles with my weight most of my life, but when perimenopause and menopause happened the next thing I knew I was 25 lbs overweight even though I was running.  I joined Fit Body Boot Camp and got introduced to macro counting through them.  I had good success with it, but ended up moving 3 times in two years and gaining the weight back over the course of the two years.  I knew I needed to do something and reached a breaking point back in January of this year. So, I decided to join Stay Fit Mom.

Tell us a little bit about the results you’ve had working with Coach Laura since beginning in January.

Michele: My results have been great.  Inches have come off faster than the weight, but that is to be expected.  My clothes fitting better is more important to me than the number on the scale.  I am down about 10 lbs since joining in at the end of January.  I have had a nice steady small weight loss every week.

Has anybody else in your life been impacted by your journey?

Michele: About 3 weeks into my SFM coaching my sister came to visit.  I had told her about macro counting before, but after spending a week with me and watching me track and meal prep and see how much food I was eating she decided to join SFM when she got home.  It has been fun to check in with each other every week and share our meal prepping, success on the scale and our set backs.

Coach Laura tells us you’re her consistency queen! How have you been able to do it? What habits do you have in place that makes this process easier for you? What lifestyle changes have you made that have enabled you to lose this much weight?

Michele: Instead of meal prepping all in one day, I kind of meal prep as I go if that makes sense.  One day I will meal prep breakfast and another day I will meal prep dinner.   I always make sure I have cooked shredded chicken on hand that I have  frozen into portions for quick meals.  I use it to make chicken enchilada bowls, power bowls and cajun chicken tacos to name a few things.

I keep my lunch rather simple.  Most days it is a turkey wrap.  The wrap allows me to adjust my carbs, fats and protein based on what else I may be eating on any given day.  Sometimes I get to have 2.5 oz of avocado on my wrap other days it may be 1 oz depending on what else I am eating the rest of the day.

Outside of the kitchen, I always lay out my workout clothes out before I go to bed every night.  Makes it easier to get to the gym or head out for a walk when you are up and dressed for it.

Before I go to bed or before I get out of bed, I plan out my food for the day.  I love making the macros zero out on My Fitness Pal and it doesn’t take much time.  I keep certain foods on hand to fill in the gaps.  My favorite things right now are cashews, Envy apples and Honey Nut Cheerios. Every night our family has snack time between 8-9 pm.  We call it apple time, but it now usually includes Cheerios too.  Both have a sweetness and a crunch that are satisfying for all of us.

Has this process changed your relationship with food?  How has learning to macro count shifted your thinking from your past experiences?

Michele: Since learning to count macros I don’t feel bad about eating carbs and fats.  I don’t feel like I have given up anything or that I am “on a diet”.  Macro counting is actually very freeing.

Besides shedding pounds and inches, what are some Non-Scale Victories that you’ve experienced?

Michele: Clothes that were too tight are fitting again.  I am lifting heavier weights at the gym.  My energy levels are better and I don’t have any afternoon slumps.

What’s your most used, favorite SFM recipe?

Michele: Right now my current go to SFM recipes are the Green Chili Egg Casserole and the BBQ pulled chicken.  Both are super easy to fix and taste great.  I cook up the BBQ chicken and freeze the portions to have access to a quick meal in a pinch.

Tell us about your experience working with Coach Laura specifically.

Michele: Laura is so positive.  Her words of encouragement make me feel great and I look forward to hearing from her on check-in day.   I appreciate her attention and thoughtfulness when she reviews my tracker.  She is quick to respond to questions and has been a great resource.

What Coach Laura has to say about working with Michele:

Laura: Michele and I began working together in January of this year. From the start, she came in as a seasoned macro tracker- already experienced and just looking for someone to be in her corner, cheering her on as she worked toward her goals. With several milestones on the horizon, including a spring birthday, Michele wanted to drop some weight, feel more confident in her clothes, and most importantly, feel like herself again.

From day one, Michele was all in.

She followed her plan with laser focus: hitting her macros, getting her workouts done without excuses, and staying locked in on her goals, regardless of what the scale said. Week after week, she showed up for herself, and that consistency has been the driving force behind her momentum.

As a coach, Michele has been an absolute dream to work with. She keeps her tracker updated like a pro, giving me the data I need to fine-tune her macros and make informed suggestions every step of the way. But Michele’s true superpower? Her consistency! She sticks to her nutrition and training routines even when life gets busy or tempting.

She’s navigated theme parks, family reunions, and special occasions with grace—making beautiful memories and honoring her body’s needs. That balance is where the magic happens, and Michele has mastered it.

Watching her progress has been nothing short of inspiring, and I’m so excited to see her continue crushing it!
