Eating Healthy at Chick-Fil-A; What Should I Order?

Whenever my husband and I travel, whether it’s to St. George for camping or to California for the beach, we ALWAYS make a pit stop at Chick-Fil-A.  I’m telling you right now, our Chick-Fil-A love is fierce. We don’t have one in Vegas….yet, but rumor has it, they’re coming our way!

Yes, Chick-Fil-A is filled with fried chicken and fries that my husband will never turn down, but they’ve also got some great choices for sticking to a healthy diet.

Before our health and fitness guru’s go crazy on us, we are providing you with the following DISCLAIMER:  Yes, eating and prepping home-cooked healthy meals are your best option for weight loss and healthy living, BUT let’s be real… sometimes Mom needs a little break from the kitchen.

Stay Fit Mom is bringing you The Healthy Dining Series.  We are heading into some of the most popular fast food joints and restaurants around the country to share with you menu choices we believe are your best options for maintaining your healthy lifestyle.

Tracy’s Healthy Menu Choice at Chick-Fil-A:

  • Grilled Market Salad
  • Light Italian Dressing
  • Fruit Cup

This salad is Ah-mazing.  If you haven’t tried it yet, give it a go.  The walnuts, chicken, and fruit combo is delicious.  What’s more?  I love that Chick-Fil-A offers fresh fruit cups as an option for sides!  I know it’s HARD to turn down those waffle fries, and I can’t always say that I do, but the fresh fruit is always in season and filled with variety.

 Tracy’s Healthy Options Rating:   Chick-Fil-A not only offers a variety of salads, and fresh fruit cups as a side, but they also offer grilled chicken options, and they’ll make your grilled chicken burger lettuce wrap style.  You can even get your kids GRILLED chicken nuggets.  I give Chick-Fil-A 4.5 out of 5 stars for my Healthy Options Rating, and the only reason they don’t get a 5, is because their waffle fries are so good, they make me go to the dark carb side. Ever wonder what the best options are for eating out? Tracy’s Family Friendly Rating: I bet you can already guess where this is going, but one of the reasons our family HAS to stop at Chick-Fil-A during every road trip is because they are ridiculously family friendly.Ever wonder what the best options are for eating out? Not only do they have amazing choices for kids’ meals, and a fabulous play area, but they are SO accommodating for families.

“Need a refill?”

“Can I get you a high chair?”

“Let me clean up the fries your precious toddler just spilled all over the floor and get you some fresh ones.”

I kid you not, we bring our dog with us when we camp, so we sit on the patio at Chick-Fil-A, and the employees have offered to bring our dog fresh water.  The employees at Chick-Fil-A must have to pass some type of friendly personality test, because all of them have smiles pasted on their face and I am SO grateful.

They also offer place mats for the kiddies, it’s always clean, and they often give out books as the prize in their kid-meals.  Chick-Fil-A is killing it when it comes to families, so they get 5 out of 5 stars!
