Banana Mango Protein Shake

I don’t know about you, but when it starts warming up I go bananas for fruity drinks.  For breakfast, after work, pre or post workout, protein shakes are always a good idea.  This banana mango protein shake is just what I need after a long day in the hot sun.

I don’t know when my fascination for protein drinks became a thing, but I’m glad they did.  I’m a creature of habit so I will drink the same flavor protein shake for months at a time.  I always keep both chocolate and vanilla whey isolate in my cupboard so I can make whatever flavor protein shake I’m in the mood for.

This banana mango protein shake was inspired by my mother.  My mom recently gave me a whole bunch of ripe mangos.  I didn’t want them to go to waste so I simply blended them up and made them into mango cubes.  This was a trick I learned back in the day when I would make my own baby food.  I keep them in the freezer so I can add a mango boost to my protein shake when needed.

See video below for how to make the mango cubes.

Frozen mango is already such a creamy addition, I love freezing it into cubes though! Ultra creamy!

Is the whey powder Whole30 compliant?

    • Reply Krista January 3, 2018 at 12:46 pm

Not the Whey I typically use. Whenever I do a round of Whole30 I don’t use any whey protein. I’m sure there might be a compliant one out there, but it’s probably really expensive and most likely won’t taste good without sweetener in it.
